The Western Front Today - Auchonvillers Cemetery

Auchonvillers military cemetery (commonly referred to as 'Ocean Villas' by British servicemen of the time), on the Somme battlefield, was established by the French Army in 1915.  Containing some 500 burials it was used by the 51st Highlanders in November 1916 to bury men killed during the Somme Offensive.
