This sub-section of the Who's Who
category of the site contains folio biographies of monarchs and their
heirs who
presided over nations at war from 1914-18.
Many were deprived of their
crowns by the time war closed, as defeat and revolution gripped their
countries. Few emerged with their position even more secure, as did
Britain's King George V. More typical were abdications such as those
by the German Kaiser and the Russian Tsar.
