Updated - Saturday, 12 July, 2003

The 85th Canadian Infantry ('Nova Scotia') Battalion - part of the 4th Canadian Division - memorial is located nearby Passchendaele and is sited close to the large Tyne Cot Commonwealth cemetery.

The memorial commemorates the battalion's involvement in the Passchendaele offensive (part of the Third Battle of Ypres) during October 1917.

The memorial is located at the position reached by the battalion on 30 October 1917.  One side of the memorial lists the names of servicemen killed during the Passchendaele actions.
